God’s Love For Us What is one way that the Lord demonstrates His great love for the human race? Psalm 145:15-16 Matthew 5:45 Psalm 8:3-6 Our Father in heaven is the one who gives us life and provides for us. We can also see God’s wonderful love in the beauty of the things in nature. ------------------- How does the Bible describe God? 1 John 4:16 2 Corinthians 13:11 Psalm 145:8-9 The Lord is full of love and mercy. Even though we have all disobeyed Him and abused the privileges He has given us, God still showers blessings down on us and He still wants to live with us forever. -------------------- How does the devil want us to picture God? Satan is constantly trying to distort the true character of God. The devil seeks to plant seeds of doubt in our minds and he wants it to look like God is the one responsible for sin. Satan has deceived many into believing that the Lord is a mean judge who is just waiting to punish sinners. -------------------- John 1:18 tells us that "No man hath seen God at any time", so how can we really know what He is like? Matthew 11:27 John 10:30 John 14:8-10 Jesus Christ came down to this earth to show us a clear picture of His Father’s character and love. -------------------- In what ways did Jesus reveal the love of God? Acts 10:38 Luke 19:10 1 John 4:9 John 15:12-13 Christ’s mission was to go around doing good and healing those who were being attacked by Satan. It required great love for Jesus to leave the comforts of His heavenly throne and to enter into this sin-filled world. We weren’t looking for God, but He came down searching for us. Now that is love! But the greatest revelation of God’s love was demonstrated at the cross where Christ laid down His life so that we can have eternal life. -------------------- How was Jesus treated on earth for our sake? Jesus suffered and died to save us. Because of His great love for all of mankind, the spotless Son of God took upon Himself the sins of the entire world. ------------------ How did Christ explain this great act of love? By this infinite sacrifice, God has shown once and for all the great love that He has for this lost world of sinners. ------------------- What does this mean for us personally? Romans 5:1-2 Romans 5:8-9 1 John 3:1 No matter what our past has been like, the Lord wants to cleanse it away and give us the free gift of eternal happiness as one of His very own children.
