Many Padawans stirred in their beds during the thunderstorm. Most have never heard thunder, or even seen rain. Here on Coruscant it happened every month. With all the thunder all stayed asleep except for one. In the medical lab in the Jedi Temple was where Master Kor was spending his night. He was busy looking for information on a new cold that has been spreading throughout the planet. It was not like a virus, but it was able to catch the attention of this medical specialist.
Master Kor wiped his forehead. He had been working since the morning. Not a minutes break. He stopped typing on the medical computer, and gazed up. He could hear the echoes of thunder from the storm. He walked to the medical lab door placing his hand on the sensor so it would open. With a couple of clicks the door whooshed open. He walked into the dimly lit hall. He glanced around. He had always enjoyed the peacefulness of night.
He looked out of the window that was by the lab to look at the night. Just then a flash was in the sky followed by the sound of a crack. He blinked, and rubbed his eyes. "I must be tired" he said to himself. With that said he walked to his room to get what little sleep he could.
The next morning it was bright, and sunny as it always was after a storm. The padawans awoke to search for their friends to tell them about their nights. Suddenly the Jedi Temple doors were thrown open by a strange man. The padawans stopped talking, and stared. The man walked in with a limp, and then fell. Padawan Vargus broke from the crowd, picked the man up, and rushed to the medical lab. There he ran into Master Kor. "Master! This man passed out in the main hall!" Master Kor rushed over, and lifted the man and placed him onto a bed. He felt the man's neck, and could feel his pluse. It was short. Master Kor looked up, and called for his medical assistants; Katarina, and Giz. All three used their healing ablilities to keep the man in this world. After a hour of work they were able to get the mans heart beat back on course. They studied the man, only to find mysterious wounds. "What could those be from?" asked Giz. "They look like bite marks."replied Katarina. "I will need to go retrieve some bacta bandages. You two stay here, and make sure his status doesn't change. Padawan Vargus please come with me." said Master Kor. He then walked from the room, being followed by Padawan Vargus.
"This is strange, I've never seen a man is this condition." said Katarina. "He looks like he could die at any min-" with that the man's heart stopped. "He's flatlined!" yelled Katarina. Both rushed over to help the man survive. Katarina got low, and put her ear to his chest to confirm that his heart did stop. "His heart has stopped! she said looking up. "But..he is looking right at you blinking..." responded Giz. Katarina looked at his face as he put his hand around her head, and bit right into her neck. Giz watched in horror unable to move. Katarina tried to scream, but nothing would come out. She was in so much pain. She tried to pull away but could not. The man continued to bite into her. His grip was much too strong to escape from. Blood from her neck went everywhere. The man did not seemed bothered by it. In fact he looked as if enjoying it. Just then Giz recovered from his shock, took out his lightsaber, and removed the man's arm from his body. Katarina was launched back from trying to pull away too hard. She fell back, and stopped moving. Giz got a tighter grip on his saber, and then bulged it deep into the man. He watched as the stranger fell back against his pillow. Giz turned around, and ran to Katarina. He took hold of her, and shook her. He shook her hard telling her to hold on. He opened her eyes. "I can't see your pupils..." Giz said stuttering. Katarina opened both eyes, and grabbed Giz. Giz tried to pull away. As he did, she only held on tighter. Katarina then opened her mouth, and started moving forward. Giz pulled back more, moving his neck further back. As he did this he caught a glimpse of the man he killed, now right behind him.
