Greetings. I would like to ask you something.
You all know how I ended up at JO, but I thought it would be nice to know how you guys ended up here.
Plz write down below how you joined the Order if you're intrested.
-
Sorry its short, but I couldn't think of much to say.
-
The way I found and joined the order was quite boring actually.
It was before TOR was released and I posted on the SWTOR forums I was looking for a Jedi guild. Heard nothing back. Went back on about a week later and saw I had a message. It was master Veniku (Arrius) telling me to check out this website. So I did, liked what I saw and applied.
Then here I am.
-
i was told about this guild by Master Yanto on SWTOR
-
After reaching level 26 or something I had enough of playing the game alone. I went to SWTOR forums to search for a guild, and from the Lord Calypho guild roster I picked this guild.
After applying at around 10 pm before going to bed I remember having some strange dreams about Masters replying to my application. When I woke up in the morning I immediately checked the forums and saw Master Alexia (Yanto) had replied. I remember speaking with him in-game before getting an guild invitation.
I think it was after a few days I got invited. I logged in on Tatooine Dune Sea outpost, and to my surprise I saw a Councillor of the Order standing right in front of me (I'm not sure who it was but I think it was either Master Atticus or Master Arrius). I bowed feeling very very nervous and introduced myself. Then I got the invitation and well...you know the rest ;)

This was a long time ago, back in 2003 or 2004:
I had been playing JK2 for a while, but hadn't ever heard of JO. I had been trying to join this clan whose name I forgot, but they thought I was too young (I think they only wanted members who were 18 or something). After I figured out that wouldn't happen, I quit playing for 6 months or so. One day I randomly decided to play again, not planning to play more than that afternoon for an hour or so. I joined the server of Tommy, who is now Torran. He had just left Jedi Saber Assassins and was running his own JK2 server from his home computer after school, to recruit for his guild. We started playing together for a little while (I joined his clan), eventually playing on the JO server sometime in the summer or 2004.
After playing on the JO server and seeing how great the clan was, in contrast to our clan with only 2 real members (maybe 3-4 on the roster), no real forum, and no permanent server, we decided to move on. We closed up our old clan and applied to JO (this was August 2004). I was nervous the whole time as a hopeful, but I was really active, even getting on JK2 around 6:30 before school sometimes.
One day (September 3, 2004) when I was up really early like that, Master Aoshi spoke to me on MSN. He asked if I could get on the server. I knew something was up and I was probably getting accepted. He teleported me to the secret council room in JediCouncilGC in JK2, and he and another councilor (possibly Humungus or Cosmo, but I'm not sure at all) performed the ceremony and accepted me. I was so excited that day. Either that night or the day after, Master (then Knight) Karr Xon came to me on MSN or in PM and asked if I wanted to be his padawan. I accepted, and the rest is history. :)

I was playing the first days of early access in SWTOR, somewhere on Tython, and heard people chatting around in the general chat. One was advertising the JO, and I asked in pm the website. I don't even know who he was. Then, for some days I was playing again for myself, until I finally got invited.
I was trying to be helpful and to quest together, and played some missions much levels higher than mine with padawan Lumiann. It was fun anyway, and the death was expecting on every angle, if you weren't careful.
Then there was a meeting, but I couldn't attend it. Shortly after it, master Shin-tetsu found me and has accepted me to padawan or so. After another week, he proposed me to be his padawan. That was it.
Hopeful Garion, why don't you tell us your story? I'm sure not everyone knows it.

I had already been lvl 50 for a while, playing in a guild with RL friends. They decided not to keep playing SWToR anymore. So I looked around and saw a few people from the Jedi Order and boom goes the dynamite.

ESSAY INCOMING:
Back in early 2003, I remember when I'd pass by the games section in Sainsbury's (grocery store here in the UK) I'd always stop by the games section to see what they had to offer. Back then, it'd be mostly PC games that caught my eye, though as I looked at the PC titles, I'd always see this game titled 'Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast'. I never really thought twice about it, though. It wasn't my thing. I had more fun playing games GTA III and Tony Hawks on my PS2. Then, one time while talking to my friend, he tells me about this "Star Wars game" where you can "be a Jedi and fight people". Sounded interesting to me, and when I went to his house and saw him playing 'ctf_ns_streets' I was instantly hooked.
I got it myself, and when I got bored of being called 'Padawan' I started to think of names. At that point I was quite proud of having some greek cypriot heritage, and from going to church I always heard about "the Alpha and the Omega", so I decided to take the name 'Alpha' because of what it meant and represented. I then started playing with a group of people called 'Xenotype Outcasts' on JK2 1.02. They were fundamentally very similar to *<JO>*, only lacking in the RP. This is a skin one guy, named Ash or 'FoolishProphet' made for me (http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Alpha;13171). If you look in the comments, you can see an embarassing post from a young me. Sadly, eventually that clan dissolved and guy called Sean or 'Knight' decided to create a new clan, 'Brotherhood of the Sword' with the tags '{>|<}'. We ended up eventually moving over to Star Wars Galaxies and for the most part leaving JK2. I followed them, and we played for a while before the second CU patch ruined that game. But anyway, I digress.
I kept trying to use mods for JK2 1.02, in particular this Yoda skin. Whenever I tried put it on, he was huge! That, and various gametype mods weren't working. It wasn't until I heard about a magical, moddable 1.04 land where people could have two sabers, the ability to sit and sleep and so on that it all made sense. So, I jumped on it and after messing around for a while, found a server called 'Jedi Order Temple'. What happened from there is a bit hazy, but I remember watching over things like a tournament being held by Master Aoshi, or Wooklyn spawning towers of Stormtroopers. I became friendly with a Knight called Kenshin, who pulled me aside and spoke to me about joining *<JO>*. He wanted to become my Master were I to eventually join, and as I couldn't get on the forums for some reason, he wrote my application for me. After that, he pretty much disappeared. I then met PhantXar, who told me I really needed two names to join *<JO>*. He came up with a few surnames, one being 'Zhen'. Interested, I proposed 'Jhen'. He thought it sounded pretty cool, so from then on I became 'Alpha Jhen'! As Kenshin had left, PhantXar suggested I become his Padawn when I joined. However, soon after he got another Padawan, so that fell in.
That's when I met some douchenozzle Jedi called Shin (though some of you may know him as Achilles or Shin'dai). We used to duel on the pad in 'ffa_bespin' and chat about random crap. I had no idea at the time, but he'd eventually end up becoming a friend very dear to me. He eventually got promoted as a Knight, and around that time I was accepted as a Padawan. Almost a decade later, here I am!

As I finished the JKA Singleplayer, I wanted to go online and kill me some Sith, because, duhh, that's what Jedi do right? I quickly found out there were these things called mods, and they made the game a lot more fun. I downloaded JA+ and it came with this map called GCX. I tried to play on it, but I didn't know how to. Only option for me was to read through the whole server list, hoping to find a server that was playing on this map. I was lucky, there was one. It even had somebody on it, playing. I entered the server and started to kill the crap out of what I believe was Jedi Jorka back then. He taught me that wasn't what you're supposed to do, and he told me about JO. I applied and that's that!
-
OK, I'll tell you my story. :)
It was during our time on the LC server. I used to be a member of Bastion, but they didn't suit me. Then I joined RDC, but because of my angry personality I had in those days, I was removed.
Then I met Jedi Rikochet and Jedi Scalarik. They showed me The Jedi Order. And after that, I was able to fully control my anger. It felt great.
A week or so later, I became a Hopeful. And that's how I got here!

In the year of 2003, I bought and played the game Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. I found several clans but none of them suited me. Then I found a clan called ReD. Don't even know what it stood for lol. But I had to trial out to become a member. I had to fight a leading clanmember, called Muffin. I didn't have any code of conduct or knew rules of respect. So as soon as we bowed down, I did a RDFA and won the fight lol.
After awhile, the clan started to die. So I searched for another server. I found the Jedi Order Temple. Still without any code of conduct, I entered the server and started to lame everyone. Really..really bad. But some members of the Jedi Order took me under their wing. Jedi Menelaos, Master Aoshi, Master PannTher, Knight Erue, Master Vos, Jedi Mei-oh, Knight Foxen and a little hopefull called RinkXing-Dinx!
Like Master Alpha, I had to change my name. At the time I was called Rodian. When I made my application, I chose the name Shin-Tetsu. Oh the fun times we had on Jedicouncilgc 3.0. But the most excited times were when there were trials or meetings. I could not enter or see any of it because I was not a member.
I became close friends with Jedi Menelaos and hopefull Rink. When Jedi Menelaos became a Jedi Knight, he could join the Recruiting team. Soon after that, I was accepted into the Order.
The Knight who was my dear friend, became my Master. A Master who I have loved and hated, but still has a place in my heart.
When I had the hardest trials JO has ever given to a Jedi, I became a Knight. To this day, I am glad that Master Alpha didn't chose Kenshin or PhantXar as Master. But became my Padawan. A friend for life.

LMFAO
I'm glad Master Alpha didn't choose Kenshin or PhantXar either! Then he might have been long gone along with them!

Who knows, I may well have! I'm glad I made that decision too though. ;)

the timeline is just a lie....

Master Yanto found me wondering around at the temple and told me about the guild. :D
