i think its about time we discussed the final future of this family, we cant go on hoping and praying that star wars will finally come up with something, battlefront is apparently already reviewed at battlefield 4 with a slight twist but nothing special.
Instead of insisting we remain jedi and standing to a lore we all know is only gonna remain with the last few members of us posting in a new thread now and then.
I suggest we change gamers, move to an mmo and make a fresh start. Start a new, rules and regs similar but a whole new makeover for the members and guild alike. we have the potential and ive just got a new pc layout in my room so ill be around alot more.

Yeah, after the initial burst of activity, the guild became a ghost town very quickly.

No-one does. And it's like that. You guys do whatever you think is good for the clan, which your idea is good. Don't change the website name though. I'd like to see every now and then on this page to see my old friends, I think I speak for more people even we are not active. But hey do whatever you like its a good initiative!

as for the future of JO...I don't know. I still have plenty of love for you guys here...in a way, I grew up with you guys. However...in terms of gaming, my activities are much different. I spend a whole lot of time on Star Trek Online and my PS4.

We are less than 59 days away from our web hosting renewal this year.
Right now, I'm talking with my brother to see if perhaps we could get the hosting migrated to one of his servers. If so, I should be able to reduce our costs by a decent chunk. We could maybe even look in to JKA hosting.

Does your current hosting site, offer any free hosting with limits to your storage space or any other restrictions? I only ask, because if any of you remember the RO site/forums being lost and a new hosting site found. Our hosting site offered us free hosting, with options to pay for increases in storage.
Unfortunately, the current forums have been quite for some time. Although, the ones I have the most contact with, are on Facebook and in a group for our clan.

Not that I know of. We moved away from free hosting solutions many years ago, simply because they seemed to get hacked all the time.

Oh okay, it was just a thought is all. Since we've had ours, we have had no issues with it being hacked. Like I said, our hosting site, does have plans that cost money. I'm sure all those sites that have free hosting, also have plans that cost. I don't know how much you guys pay for here, or how much you might save, if the site gets moved to the one that was suggested in another post in this topic, but our hosting site is forumotion.com (http://forumotion.com)

Well, thanks from a donation from a VERY generous master, we are going to go ahead and move the forums over to the cheaper solution, and will be good for at-least another year. That being said, the transition should be seamless for you guys, but I will let you know when it has been completed.

It's that time of year (yet again). Since we are still using my brother's hosting, our costs are still much cheaper than before. We will only need to raise $60 for the year.
That being said, I know it is very dead around here. Help out if you can, but of course no big deal if you can't.

I will update if/when we reach the goal so that we don't get too many donations for the year!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, my brother has to move our site to a new web host. Unfortunately, the new plan also only officially allows one domain, so our "jediorderclan.com" domain will likely redirect to his site soon in a tucked away corner. I just wanted to let you all know so that you weren't alarmed when the URL automatically.
That being said, a the end of this year I was honestly going to see if this was something we wanted to keep going, and if so possibly offload the files/and responsibilities to someone willing to maintain the site. Personally, I think we could probably make due with a discord channel at this point.

I'm sure you've seen the semi-quiet conversation in the RO/JO board, that I started about Discord. There are some current JO & JO Ghosts in the RO Discord channel. I posted the invite link in our discussion about Discord, in the RO/JO board. IF any more members jump into the channel, I'll just need to know if they're an "active" member or a Ghost, so I can set them up for which ever one. :)

Personally I think this forum should always exist as long as we can afford to do so as an archive but in terms of communication I am also in favor of shifting to Discord.
If we do want to keep this around, I can send the files and database to someone who is willing to keep hosting it. It would be fairly straight forward to migrate the files to a new web host. That being said, with some new additions coming in my life, I just don't think I will have the time and patience to keep things rolling when push comes to shove, but with the donations we've received over the years I'm glad to keep it going until the end of the year (with the above mentioned change), but then hopefully I could find someone to pass the reigns to.

We were able to get everything moved over, but had to update the forums due to the php version on the new host being much newer. As such, it completely broke our custom theme and some images. We still have retained the database and everything that goes along with that though, so we're all good there.

I can't properly get in to the forums... Every time I log in (on my normal account), it keeps saying "Unable to load the 'main_above' template." I had to create a backup account just to get in to report this.
Any chance someone could take a look at my profile and maybe select me a default theme or something? A custom theme is possibly the case...
EDIT: Or even better, maybe promote this account so I can tinker with my profile myself :)

I've reset everyone's theme back to the default again and reset the settings as well, let me know if you still can't log in! I removed the custom template from even being selectable so hopefully it should let you in now.

I don't think I could do stomach vanilla JKA - the mods really were amazing for it!! Wish they'd hurry up and make a good SW multiplayer game again though. Although I doubt we'll see that while EA hold the license...

I am sorry that I missed these posts. The forums are just piggybacking off of my brother's webhosting right now and we are only paying the domain registration fees each year. That said, unless we paid for completely different webhosting, we can't really set up a different domain name to point the forums at since the jediorderclan.com redirect is done via DNS.
I don't think it really makes sense to pay for a separate webhosting package, since the forums are basically just an archive at this point. If we truly want to look into that, I'd be open to taking donations, but to be frank I was getting a little tired of begging for funds every year and moving everything yet again would be a bit cumbersome. Personally, I don't have the spare funds to throw at this in any capacity as I have been going through A LOT of medical issues as of late.

Yes, we do still own the jediorderclan.com domain, which currently forwards to the "homepage" and has a link to the forums; I think it's like $10 a year or something, but my brother hasn't even asked me about it recently that I can recall. If everyone wanted to move the site files and database, we definitely could, but there isn't any real NEED to at this point.
The droid bot is me, the built in admin account. The last time I was on I deleted and banned every account I saw as spam, but didn't have time to look into the registration options. Thank you for doing that and everyone for cleaning up the rest!

Hey Master Pann,
It's been a tough road, and to be honest I am not sure where it's going. The medical system, at-least where I am in the US, is painfully slow. It's been one referral after the next, and while we've discovered a couple things (Common Variable Immunodeficiency and Ankylosing Spondylitis) along the way, they are truly only incidental in finding what has really been causing my health to decline. I have always been anxious around doctors, so this stuff is really pushing me to my limits.
I am hoping that a test scheduled for next week that will provide some much needed answers.

We did recently re-up the domain name, it was $20.17. Apparently it was wishful thinking about my brother not asking about it, LOL.
Also, sorry for the much delayed reply! My wife and I actually just welcomed our second child into the world in October, so it's been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least. I had to leave my job in August last year because I couldn't physically do it any more so I am a bit worried about how it is going to be for me once she goes back to work. With the way things are though, we didn't want to miss the opportunity.
