One Dark Night (Discussion)
« on: July 17, 2007, 10:27 PM »
Because all the other stories had one, and this story cried to its author and begged him "Why can't I have Discussion threads like all the other story threads do?"

The author replied, "I'm tired and I want to goto bed.  Maybe tomorrow."

"I want one!  I WANT ONE."  The story proceeded to bounce around the author's brain.  The story did not let the author sleep until he had created one, and thus here we are.

Starfish on yo-yo's much?

Good use of twists, Master Kaeawc.  You give alot of twists which can be bad if done if you don't warn the reader...but you tend to give clues, which is precisely how to make a twist very good.

I especially liked the decoy droid.  I read that little sentence about "the foot pressure imprints being deeper than they should have been" about 5 times before I decided that I didn't get it and moved on.  Then, when it was revealed to be a droid, it made sense; excellent use of hinted twist.

I don't care if you're tough...I have a drink and a blaster, one of which is going to be used; which one depends on you.

^_^ I was actually thinking of something completely different when I first wrote that line... but then later on I thought of the droid and it all made sense so I wrote on.

Most writers would say "Yeah, I meant that!"

...but we all are really thinking "Wow, that was lucky."

And then I finally got so lazy that I broke the lazy barrier and became inspired again :o
