New ElysiumTeket paced up and down in his quarters onboard the Republic Warship
New Elysium, twirling his vibrosword with remarkable precision. He was thinking of his past. He knew little of his parents, although as he thought of them he found emotions which told stories about them. His mother was like him, a force sensitive. She lacked the force ability to be a full jedi. She worked in administrative capacity for the jedi outpost on some remote planet on the outer rim. Only 3 Jedi manned the station on the relatively unremarkable planet, searching for artifacts from a long-dead race. Much of her life was peaceful. The only time she heard of conflict between the Sith and the Republic was through holonet history and news reports. The peace was brutally shattered when the sith empire attacked the planet for unknown reasons. Perhaps they were in search of ancient artifacts, like the jedi, maybe it was the jedi presence on the planet, or the desire to bring yet another independent planet into imperial control, or maybe it was just to satisfy the perverse blood-lust of some sith lord. He did not know. The Defences around the planet were weak. A single Imperial Dreadnought shattered the planetary defences and only 800 troops decended onto the planet. The capital, and home of the jedi outpost were over run. The troops did not attack the jedi outpost however, they were sent to secure the government buildings and installations until an occupational force and planetary governor was installed. The Outpost was attacked by a single Sith Lord. Shenu, he was called. Teket felt his mother's fear, as she witnessed three trained, experienced jedi knights cut down with ease by the Sith. Teket knew he had not been concieved willingly. The emotional pain his mother went through told him that much. He imagined his mother was given to the Imperial Dreadnought's Captain as a slave-gift, Teket himself had started life onboard the very same ship.
Briefly, he stopped his pacing, and thought about his Father. Teket was surprised. He did not feel the emotions generally associated with the sith. There was no hatred, no anger. Instead, he felt calmness, rationale, even...regret. He could not exactly know where his Father was, or what he was. However Teket was certain that he was no longer the same man he was 19 years ago. The Sith his mother saw before her was crazed, fueled by anger and hatred. However, he still knew that his Father was indeed a Sith, a Darth now, aparently, according to the news update a week ago of the invasion on an outer-rim system led by Darth Shenu Ohanka. Curiously Teket had checked the Republic records onboard the ship, and found that it was indeed Darth Shenu who led the attack on what can only be called his homeworld.
His Mother's life ended when his began, he supposed she died during childbirth. Imperial slaves did not recieve the necessary medical care. His mother gave birth to him alone, in a dark, cold cell. Her screams of pain and torment must've been ignored by the guards who did not check until the following morning, to discover a crying baby in the arms of its dead mother.
The next years of his life until the age of 6 were a blur, and the only thing Teket could remember from when he was 6 was being sold to some unknown Moff in the Imperial Navy. The only remaining memory of his life from that early period is when he was 8 years old. He was bringing the Moff tea when he noticed the news viewscreen. The sacking of Coruscant. He remembered feeling shocked and somewhat relieved. All his life he had been pumped full of imperial propaganda about how the Jedi were evil, standing in the way of the Empire's domination of the galaxy. The newsreader claimed it was a glorious victory for the empire, and how the enemies of peace and prosperity, the jedi, had been eradicated. The word "eradicated" made him feel uneasy, however. For some unknown reason he had always felt a vague connection to the Jedi. He was told briefly about how he was force sensative. It must have had somthing to do with that.
Nothing overly dramatic happened until he was 18. Teket was onboard an Imperial Dreadnought, indeed the boarding of a ship was a highlight of his life, he had been burned by the guards, who stubbed their death sticks out on the back of his hand for being in the wrong corridors. a few months passed without any real incident on the dreadnought. He followed his Master's every command, fetching drinks, scrubbing floors, doing the work that only droids usually did these days. However, only a few weeks previously a Sith had visited the ship and he had been brought up to the Bridge. Teket remembered feeling excited, slaves were never allowed to go onto the Command Deck, let alone the bridge. He remembered the excitement building inside him as he was pulled by two guards into the bridge. An unnecessary action, he thought, as he would have literally runned there. The Moff begged and begged the Sith Lord for mercy. Aparently by keeping Teket as a slave the Moff had violated Imperial law. All force sensatives were to be taken to the Sith Academy to become sith - or die trying. The penalty for harbouring a Force Sensative was death. Teket had witnessed his Master's torture for minutes, he remembered mis Master writhing and screaming in agony as the lightning shot up and down his body, until finally he was thrown against the wall, collapsing into a crumpled heap. Teket himself was then dragged to a shuttle for a 2-day journey to Imperial Space (at the time he was on the border-zone as the Dreadnought was patrolling the area).
His guard was not large, only 4 imperial troops and the 2 pilots. One of the troopers was forced to remain at his side at all times, to ensure he didn't try to escape. Not that it mattered. It was here, onboard the shuttle that Teket had first thought about his father. Specifically he thought about his father during the invasion of his home planet. He felt what the sith were, and wanted nothing to do with it. He did not want to become sith. This thought continued in his mind for a minute before he noticed the Imperial soldier. The soldier was floating above the floor, clasping his throat, struggling to breath. Teket, indirectly, had willed the Imperial soldier to die so he could escape. A load crack was heard as the Imperial Soldier's neck snapped. The next moments he could remember well. He remember the other troopers, armed with vibroswords entering the room. Teket grabbed the one wielded by the dead soldier and dispatched the first soldier who stepped forward with a series of twirling, precise blade moves. The force must've granted him the ability to do it, he had never so much has held a long knife in his lifetime. As the first soldier fell he willed the sword into his remaining hand and with a lightning fast movement dispatched the remaining guards, they fell to the ground at the same time. He utilized the force to open the cockpit door, where he took control of the ship. The two pilots surrendered and thus teket showed mercy, however he did lock them into the small cargohold onboard the shuttle just in case.
He piloted the ship towards Republic space where he was, either by luck or by the force intervention, picked up by the Republic Corvette he was now onboard. For the next few weeks he waited. He practiced his blade skills, he often requested non-lethal sparring with the crew, all of whom he dispatched with ease, including the elite-team of marines who were trained in hand-to-hand and vibrosword combat. He also practiced the use of his force abilities. He found he could heal minor wounds, lift objects, sense the presence of others (a natural ability held by all Miraluka, although until recently his force ability had only consisted of being able to force-see where his eyes would normally have allowed. He could even make himself run faster and jump further and higher with the force. When he notified the crew about this they sent out a message to the jedi order, who had dispatched a young master to speak to Teket himself......
