Chapter I: The Beginning of the Legacy
Dark clouds swept over the town of Guardain, covering the isolated town in a dark purple tint. Lorn never liked the weather in the Guardain plains, as the days tended to be dark and cold and the nights dark and hot. Sweat gathered on his face as he forced his spade into the soil and pulled out roots. Lorn was a tall, fair-skinned man with a slouched posture. He tended to dress in a white shirt with a denim waist coat and jeans. Attached to his belt he always had a hunting knife, the blade was a light shade of red and the handle was black with gold stripes running down its leather hilt.
He was a wealthy man, and very brave. He was one of the only farmers within a 10 mile radius of Guardain and due to this he had to work three times has hard as a farmer who would be supplying the Imperial Outpost.
Lorn never liked the Imperials, because of their rough approaches to simple matters. The word around Guardain was that Imperials had been approaching Guardain searching for a force sensitive; Lorn couldn't care less about what they were looking for, as it wouldn't help him get his work done. Within a few days of hearing about the imperials, they were heard to have been entering the Aldaraen plains, just south of Guardain.
Rain thundered down on the roof of Lorn's small hut that night, Lorn sat down by the fireplace, initiated his holopad and began to read the news, when there was a knock on his door. Hesitantly, he went and answered it. A hooded figure drenched with soft hands stood on his doorstep shivering. The figure asked, with a smooth and majestic voice, 'Please sir, may I come in? My landspeeder was raided by... by thugs' a tear fell out of the hood and Lorn peered over her shoulder into the gallons of rain, more concerned about his fragile crops then nodded to allow the hooded woman in and closed the door behind her.
Wondering what he was going to do about the crops, he offered her a place in an armchair and sat himself beside her. Suddently, what just occured hit him. It was foolish of me to let this stranger in... I should be out there tending the crops he thought to himself. How do I know if she's a threat? I must find out more about her, she could be a thief'. 'Stranger' he said to her, briskly, 'I have let you into my house without knowing who you are, please lower your hood and please, tell me your name'. The stranger raised her hands and lowered her hood, revealing a beautiful young woman with long brown hair and elegant eyes. Suddenly, the crops disappeared from Lorn's mind and all his attention went on the woman. Noticing his interest, she blushed and said, 'My name is Jule, I come from a small village near the Dantooine Mining Outpost, I was on my way to Guardain to buy a droid but...' her voice lowered and a tear slid down her soft face. 'But the thugs stopped my landspeeder and attacked my friend, I had no choice but to run before they got me... who knows what they would have done to me'. She shed another tear and Lorn held her soft face and lightly wiped away a tear from her face with his thumb.
'You're safe now' he muttered while he moved a strand of her away from her eyes. 'My name is Lorn, Lorn Jhen, I'm a farmer, I work here'
'Surely not, thugs and rancors aswell as rabid wolves lurk around these parts, how do you survive?'
Lorn's fingers ran down the blade of his hunting knife and he smiled, 'I defend myself'. Jule opened her mouth to speak again, but then closed it.
'Your eyes' said Lorn, softly, 'they're beautiful...' Jule smiled, and the two of them began talking for hours about their lives, a few hours later, they stopped and their eyes hung into each other's. Lorn leant forwards and kissed Jule gently on the lips and they walked into Lorn's bedroom, little did they know, 9 months later, Alpha Jhen would be born.
