Privacy Policy — WOTR Relaxing Christian Radio
Effective date: May 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes the data practices of the WOTR Relaxing Christian Radio mobile application ("the App") published by WOTR ("we", "us", or "our"). The App lets listeners stream the WOTR Relaxing Christian Radio stations to their mobile device.
Short version
The App collects no personal information. It does not require an
account, does not display ads, does not include analytics, crash
reporting, advertising IDs, or third-party tracking. The only network
requests it makes are to our own streaming server
(wotrstream.com) to play audio and display the currently
playing song.
Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.
- We do not use analytics services or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not display advertising.
- We do not share any information with third parties because no such information is collected.
Information stored on your device
The App stores two small preferences locally on your device using Android's built-in app storage:
- The mount path of the last station you played, so the App can re-select it the next time you open the App.
- Your last volume setting, so playback resumes at the volume you prefer.
This information never leaves your device. It is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data in Android Settings.
Information transmitted to our servers
To play audio and display the currently playing song, the App connects
to our streaming server at wotrstream.com over HTTPS. The
following types of requests are made:
- An audio stream connection to the selected station (e.g.,
/hymns,/acoustic) for as long as you are listening. - Periodic requests to
/status-json.xsl(approximately every ten seconds while a station is selected) to retrieve the currently playing song title and a list of available stations.
These requests carry only the technical information your device ordinarily sends when making any web request (such as your IP address and a generic user agent). We do not log this information beyond the basic operational logs maintained by the streaming server software, which are used solely to diagnose service issues and are not used to identify or profile individual listeners.
External links
The App includes a button that opens our website, wordoftruthradio.com, in your device's default web browser. Once you leave the App, your browser's own privacy practices apply.
Children's privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under the age of thirteen, but we believe it is safe for children to use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can investigate.
Data security
All connections between the App and our streaming server are encrypted with TLS (HTTPS). Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal information stored on our servers that could be at risk in the event of a security incident.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is no data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you wish to remove the small local preferences described above, uninstall the App or clear its data in Android Settings.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change in the future, we will update this page and revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be noted in a release of the App or on this page.
