I've heard so much about how bad smoking is, yet I still do it. There isn't much immediate harm that comes from it and it feels good (nothing compared to other things, but its nice and its legal). If tobacco was illegal, I wouldn't smoke.

I don't smoke, but generally I couldn't care less if people do it or not, a large majority of people I know smoke, it's no big hassle to me.

You only live once, what you choose to do with the time you've got on this Earth is up to you... that's the beauty of life.

And sure, you could shorten your life span somewhat through smoking, but at the end of the day you could also be ran down by a bus tomorrow.

That's the outlook most have. There's so many complications that come with LIVING whilst smoking though. My biology A-level course has covered quite a lot about smoking, it's probably the government's way of drililng it into your head that it isn't good. It works, though. There's a girl in my course who was of the belief at the start that "she knew the risks and she didn't care, smoking is smoking" however after we covered that chapter completely, she'd stopped!

My honest opinion is that smoking's just silly, but like Rinky said, I don't mind if people do or don't. I have friends who smoke.

The laws in the UK are ridiculous. You have to be 16 to be able to smoke, but you have to be 18 to buy them.

I don't believe we have a minimum smoking age :P

I believe that anyone who does non-medicinal drugs, abuses medicinal drugs, *cough* Heath Ledger *cough* smokes, drinks, or is fat should be laughed at. Repeatedly, with the following exceptions:
1. Fat people who are that way because of their body's natural growth. This mainly applies to old people.
2. Fat people who are actually in great shape, but just happen to look fat while they're at it. Includes sumo wrestlers, because at least they do some athletic activity.
3. People who are trying to get in better shape/loose weight. Unless they keep failing due to relapses.
4. Children under age 12. Because by age 12, they should know enough to be aware that they need to improve their health. Before that, their parents should have been trying to help them. Plus, some kids are just fat until they hit puberty. My brother went from the fattest of my mom's children to being our resident stick figure.
5. People who do drugs/smoke/drink with no known side-effects present. Mainly because it's so much funnier when they're in a position to realize the irony of their stupidity. Bonus points if they're STILL continuing their habit, thus proving that we should not offer them any real medical help. (except perhaps a therapist)

Alchohol/smoking or any otther addiction can also be the result of a heavy period in someone's live, a divorce/someone's death/ whatever. If you go laughing at those people, that won't really help them get over their addiction. ;)

Lol Max get over it lol. I do all of those things. Laugh at me if you want it won't make a difference because I do it because it makes me feel more comfortable. Makes the boring things in life see more interesting. If it makes me die earlier than I'm supposed to oh well no big difference just one less dirty smoker/druggy/alcoholic in the world right?

You should have yourself a drink.
