From Pre-order faq:

I live in North America but my friend lives in Europe. Will we be able to play together on the same server?

Yes, it will be possible to play on the same server as your friends. Any player of Star Wars: The Old Republic can choose to play on any server. However, if you choose to play on a server outside of your own region (i.e., – playing on European servers from North America, and vice versa), because of natural latency caused by the distance between your client and the game servers, you may find your game performance is impacted.

Likelihood is I'll be playing EU regardless, possibly, because I know a fair amount of people here who'll be playing.

If we do base ourselves in the US (which seems the probability, seeing as our US members' support and dedication to this), I'll sure as hell make a US main I'll play regularly

I would base myself on EU servers, though if the clan was on US servers I would make a character to play on a US one as well.

As long as lag isn't too bad, I don't really care either way. I would rather pick the server that is best for the majority of our members. I was thinking we'd be EU because we have more Europeans than Americans.

I can't imagine having a high amount of latency. I never had a problem with LAG on US servers.
