This weeks update deals with companion system. After some beta testing and user feedback there was alot of requests. Some of the following request dealt with more customization and then more polishing on Bioware's part. The companion system its self is pretty much done as with the rest of the game final plans and polishing is still making its way to be completed in alot of area's.
Companion changes:
Customization: First being a mmo and that meaning a wide variety of players at one point in time all using the same companions so to speak seemed a little dull and boring. So to mix up things they added many features to customize armor and weapons etc.. That got great player feedback but there was more requests. So bioware just released you will be able to customize your companions appearance. Many forms from eyes, hair, skin tone, facial features have been changed.
Combat: Each companion you acquire in your adventures will be set to a specialization so to speak. Either Tank, ranged, Melee, Healer etc..
They will get special skills to be used as they level up with you. Making your companion a full unique player and member of your group. The AI
and companion system is one of the most advanced to date in any MMO and in my opinion of playing bioware's games and other companion played games
Marks SWTOR the #1 advanced companion system to date.
Dont worry about walking up to another player and seeing the identical name of his/her Companion.. other players are not able to see the companions full name it will only show up as
'[player name]'s Companion'
Well thats my study of the new update this week. I personally would be happy to see some thing done on ship's and customization. Something that i loved in SWG and would like to see done here. No doubt this will def. be a game of it's own but its a feature i really hope is in launch.
