Journal of S'ayet: Storming the Esseles
« on: January 05, 2012, 08:19 AM »

Arrived to Republic fleet on my way to Coruscant. Got approached by this quirky looking alien offering this
off the radar spaceship for travelling.

10.35
The alarms are screeching. The people all around seem scared and a little bit winded. It seems an imperial cruiser
has approached to our presence and the boarding has begun. On our struggle to the escape pods we get stumbled into
this blueish alien woman. She claims that the Commander of Esseles needs all ready hands he could get to block the boarding attempts of some empire troops. Although flawless in her words, this new alien acquaintance has something highly irritating in her. The tone of his voice is making me uncomfortably uneasy.

The bridge is in a pathetic state. The republic sure knows how to look at its best while in dire situations. The commander
is about to cry. I wonder should I offer a shoulder, neckerchief or some colorful saber towards his face. How did
they assign so utterly useless man to flag this ship? Suddenly the ships holocommunicator starts blinking. The cruiser is hailing.

I shouldve known this ship is trouble. The hailing party has represented himself as a Grand Moff Kilran. He wishes
us welcome to greet our doom and informs us that he is on his way to extract an ambassador that has provoked the Empire
by undermining their foreign relations with unallied planets. I hope I just had my own ship to fly. Company
always brews issues. Of course I wish Kilran the best and hope he doesnt have a heart attack before we can come
meet his imperialistic friends down at the engineering room, where we need to go ask for some technical stuff because our pretty
lady ambassador told us to. I hate people who just think they can give orders and govern others. Well ambassador, you just wait until the engine room. We are gonna have some serious governing down there.

Should have known that some private time with our blue alien was not happening. It happens to be that this blindfolded humanlike guy is accompanying us to save the ship. Amusing... to save the ship. Well atleast he seems to know something about engineering structure of the republic cargo ships. And he gives me this feeling....like he is watching although the eyes are not visibly moving...actually im not sure if theres eyes at all.

11.15
The blind guy has introduced himself as a Miraluka and as a servant of the Jedi Order. His fighting prowess exceeds my expectations. And he doesnt seem so bad as a person either. The ambassador has given us an indirect order to reset the airlock
system of the engineering deck. That shall provide us an access to the hangar bay. The fate of the engineers will however be determined to be reassigned into space.

What kind of an ambassador would even suggest such a thing?...saving everybody else justifies it she says. I wonder... The
jedi knight doesnt seem to be very fond to follow his request. Left hand is starting to twitch...

We agree not to reset the airlock system. Jedi knight Kor'Keel, as he calls himself, states that we shouldnt give in to murder. I agree. However, Im not sure if Its the empahty or the resentment to follow or collaborate with any suggestions of the ambassadors authority. Her attitude of not sacrificing her own life but others bothers me, although I doubt my actions to be any different in his position. How intriguing can fear be. But she is still a diplomat...the republics finest, supposedly ready for anything towards the people. Despisable...abandoning ones ideals.

Before embarking to disable the tractor beam from the destroyer, Esseles' commander confronted us with a proposal of handing over the ambassador. That way the empire would stop pursuing the ship and the compensation would be very generous. Kor'Keel refused to even consider the proposal stating "that it is not the Jedi way,
nor should it be anybodys". Maybe...everybody has a right to be saved.

12.30
The fight has come to and end... we managed to get into the imperial destroyer, disable the tractor beam and slice some little sith to pieces. Imperial reinforcements are heading to our location from the elevator and some blasterfiring is given.
We are running. Just a little longer now...the ambassadors right behind me. And then, With a slight
handwave... the diplomat trips.

Im standing at the entrance, gazing out. I have just reported all the survivors to be on board. The ambassador has decided to make a run for it. Just a few meters separates us when my hand rises, the ladys movement stops, and the impulsing hate in my head ceases. I am calm again. She is trembling, the betrayal is agonizing the eyes, making
them flicker. She fears the fates unexpected turn on these last moments before the end. I hear her say:

"This isnt the Jedi way!", A

I bid farewell:

"Today you saved thousands of lives", S

Everybody eventually dies.
